Home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Vientam is considered an extremly safe, welcoming and popular destination for women traveling solo, with low rates of violent crime against tourists.

In this blog I am sharing my experiences and travel tips as a female solo traveler discovering this beautiful country, hopefully inspiring your next trip to Vietnam.

The charming Vietnamese coastal town Hoi An is famous for its tailors, attracting tourists seeking, fast, custom-made, and affordable clothing (often within 24–48 hours). I wanted to get some bespoken clothes tailored in Hoi An. Finding a skilled tailor was quite a challenge, but in the end, I succeeded. How did it go? How do the clothes fit?

In February 2026 I travelled to Hoi An, a charming coastal town in Central Vietnam, famous for its tailors. I own a sporty Rizzini shooting vest but I always fancied a more elegant style for the range. Having a tricky body shape, I wanted to get a bespoken shooting vest tailored in Vietnam. I designed the perfect shooting vest on paper. This was the easy part, has I had a clear vision of my perfect shooting vest. Finding a tailor in Hoi An however, was challenging.

I have never been much of a breakfaster. However, when I am on holidays, everything is different: I like to get up early (6 am or even earlier) to enjoy the early morning peace and quite, and a few hours later a big savory breakfast. In Hoi An, Central Vietnam, I found three excellent breakfasts spots that I would like to share with you. They are all beautifully located and offer excellent food and drinks.
